Facts on health insurance subsidies supported by Republicans in 2025 and into the future are:

The Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) deliberately failed to renew the enhanced subsidies for individuals and families that acquire health insurance through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace.. These subsidies are set to expire at the end of 2025

Of the 24.3 million Americans enrolled in ACA health plans, about 22.4 million of them receive subsidies. All of those subsidies will markedly decrease or be lost if the additional enhancement ends as scheduled.

If you use the ACA Marketplace for your health insurance your monthly health care premiums may increase by more than 75% according to the Wall Street Journal.

Of the 820,000 Georgians who get coverage through the ACA the average premium will increase around $5,800 a year.

The BBB also shortened the open enrollment period and increased the required paperwork for eligibility.
